Water Baptism
Have you recently accepted Jesus as your Savior? Baptism is an important step of obedience that shows others we have personally trusted Jesus for our salvation.
What is Baptism?
Baptism is an important step of obedience that shows others we have personally trusted Jesus for our salvation. Jesus was baptized when He was on the earth, and we do this to follow His example. When Christians are baptized, they are submerged under water to identify with the death and burial of Jesus and raised out of the water to identify with His resurrection.
"We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."
— Romans 6:4Register Today
We believe that water baptism is a public declaration of three important things: you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you are beginning a changed life in Christ, and you are part of a new family.
Baptism Facts
Baptism is a public declaration of your faith in Jesus Christ. It's an outward expression of an inward decision. Jesus commanded us to be baptized (Matthew 28:19-20), and it's an important step of obedience in following Him. Baptism doesn't save you, but it's a powerful way to declare your faith and celebrate your new life in Christ.
Baptism symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When you go under the water, it represents dying to your old life and being buried with Christ. When you come up out of the water, it represents being raised to new life in Christ. It's a beautiful picture of the transformation that has taken place in your heart.
If you were baptized before you made a personal decision to follow Jesus, we encourage you to be baptized again as a believer. This is because baptism is meant to be a public declaration of your personal faith in Christ. Many people were baptized as infants or children before they understood the significance of salvation, and choose to be baptized again as adults.
Yes! If your child has made a personal decision to follow Jesus and understands what baptism represents, they can be baptized. We encourage parents to talk with their children about their decision and ensure they understand the commitment they're making. Our team is happy to meet with you and your child to discuss baptism and answer any questions.
We believe baptism is for those who have made a personal decision to follow Jesus. Since infants cannot make this decision, we offer child dedication instead. Child dedication is a time for parents to publicly commit to raising their child in a Christian home and for the church family to pledge support. When your child is old enough to understand and accept Jesus, they can then be baptized.
We provide baptism t-shirts for you to wear during your baptism. We recommend wearing dark-colored shorts or pants underneath. Bring a change of clothes and a towel for after the baptism. We have changing rooms available for your convenience.
